Learning Chinese Culture - Chinese New Year

In all of China's year the most important holiday is that of Chinese New Year. It is sort of like Christmas and Thanksgiving rolled into one. The holiday, to be done right, lasts fifteen days! It is a time when families are supposed to come back together for reunion. What is done together during Chinese New Year? One: Is Eat, Two is Eat, the is Family. All sorts of dishes will be prepared for family and they are not normal dishes. The dishes that are prepared for Chinese New Year are dishes that take a long cooking time, and thus they are only done for this special time of year. For Non-adults; Children, Teenagers and the like, are given Red Envelopes. These Envelopes are filled with money for children to spend on whatever their fancy. In Chinese Culture, having meals with friends and family is very important. It is a time to offer the best that you can for your friends and family. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Donate: http://bit.ly/Wg4FzD Website: http://bit.ly/Wg4F2N 5 Minute Chinese : S09E34 http://bit.ly/1Om0LN9
