Chinese Culture - The Price of Bargaining

What is the price of Bargaining in China? In today's culture examination we're going to give a brief overview of bargaining in China. When do bargain and when not to? When you are in a small independent stores in China, then bargaining with them should be a priority. For local Chinese, and especially for foreigners then vendors will increase the prices of their wares by 5 times or more, and if you are good as bargaining you can easily bring it down quite a lot. So take this to heart when you visit China. When do you *not* bargain in China? Don't bargain when you are in grocery stores, or shopping malls, or places like Wal*Mart, etc. They have a set price, and there is no haggling, or bargaining there. This holds true for even State owned gift shops in China, especially at major Tourist Attractions like "Summer Palace" or "Forbidden City". --------------------------------------- Donate: http://bit.ly/Wg4FzD Website: http://bit.ly/Wg4F2N 5 Minute Chinese : S08E03 http://bit.ly/1lQNzVD
