When I was pregnant the first time I had no idea what a Baby Shower was, and then one of my good friends told me what they were. I was a little surprised because Baby Showers as they exist in America do not exist. China does have something similar, however. In China there is basically the "first 100 days" celebration for a baby where Family come to see the new child and bring him things that he may need (clothes, diapers, etc). How does your culture celebrate the coming or arrival of a new child?
